I though you were sick for a while because you finally had a few nice comments for the PS3 but I can see you're back.

A pretty nice 15 chapters review! Yet, you basically handpicked the only 3 negative chapters about the game for N4G... 15 chapters, and luck of draw, you picked chapter 10,11 and 15... Sure enough, a true PS3 fan may have stumble on any of the other 12 chapters. Not you.

Welcome back Bloodmask. Now let see how long it takes for your "ot...

Please, don't tell me it was the first time you heard about this???? If so, you should get out from under your rock more often. This has been posted 15 times so far in NEWS for gamers... The first time, it was news! The 15th time, it's just rant from somebody.

If I release today an article on my web site about the fact that Russia sent Spoutnik on orbit in 1957, does it suddenly become a news because I talk about it again???? Should it be posted on CNN... How many times ...

So first, when will it stop. This is just another rant. This is not news anymore. How could somebody by now not know about this. This as been posted 15 times in "NEWS for gamer" alone! Should they change their name to RANTS for gamers????

Then, the guy goes on and say: "why tell people months in advance that the model is being discontinued? " Well because you have a choice. You want full BC, you buy the 60Gb before it's gone. You still want decent BC, you...

Only thing missing is split screen racing. Tickets are a fun way to play alone. But it's online with 12 players that this game rocks. Cars flying all over the place. And yet most races need photo finish.

Yet, what's nice, is that all three racing games are great. I guess it depends if you like playing against online opponents (motorstorm) or play home with friends, or other details like that.

Yet, thank you Sega for keeping the whole spirit of the game : )

Are you talking about Windows XP? Patches still coming out weekly for a 6 years old O.S. Dang I feel like a beta tester...

Are you talking about Windows Vista? Not even one year old, and service pack one is coming out soon...

Are you talking about the 360? How many version of hardware will it take before it doesn't break down... Most people agree that the 65nm GPU and new memory should fix most problems.

If Halo would have been designed by Mic...

One game: "Everyday shooter" just came out. It was made by one single guy!!! Wow, the PS3 is hard to develop for, yet, one single man made a pretty decent game now selling on PSN... Sure, it's not using all the power of the PS3. For that, you need a team. So what those big business, like EA are doing? If one guy can make a decent game, one hundred working a full year should do miracles...

Trust me, programmers found it hard to code for multiples cores. They had to a...

Technically, HD standard was 1080P. Then some people woke up and found out it could never be transmitted via Cable or Satellite because of bandwith issue. They then decided to go for 1080i... Half the bandwith but still marvelous 1920X1080... Then they woke up again, and though that for sport, or fast action, interlace wasn't the best, so they lowered it down to 720P. It should have been the end of story. After all, 720P is a lot more than the 480P half the world is used to. It's also be...

I believe the Wii is already ahead as far as install base. And it took them half the time to reach that point and their install base is only growing from there.
The 360 is still not making money, but the Wii has been since it was released. The only reason they have not lowered the price yet, is the fact that they cannot cope with the demand. Right now, they could lower their price at $199 and likely still make money, but why since they cannot make them fast enough. Microsoft is current...

And most programmers are like most people, when they are used to one CPU, they like to stick with it. Switching to multiple cores (or cell) is scary for most of them.

YET, we have a new game on PSN right now that is a ONE MAN JOB. Everyday Shooter was all done by a single guy. Programming, music, art, etc. Is he a super genius? No, he just sat down and learned how to program the cell.

Luckily, he's not alone. Many great games are coming out. So eventually, mor...

Remember, those are relatively small companies with really thight people who are used to work together.
First EA will say, don't worry, we will all leave you together, nothing will change.
Then they will say: Well, we don't need multiple HR department, so we will only move your HR people with ours. Bang you lost a few friends.
Then they will say: Ok, we already have good guys in marketing, so we will more your guys with ours, or they can find another job. Bang, more frien...

But sadly, it's quite possible. Remember, quite often, those people attend 3 days game shows, where they have to stand up most day, 16 hours in a row. This is tough on footwear, so you may be right... I also bet you that her toes are quite often blistered. It's not such an easy job as it may look : )

Now the big question is: Will those guys expertise in gaming will bring the overall EA quality up, or is the big fat company will just swallow those guys and they will only make average games from now on...

Sadly, I can hear EA's management saying (for all games in progress): "quick, quick, finish your game, we have to make 860 millions more this year otherwise our bottom line will look bad"

Also, I'm wondering how much Peter Moore had to do with this....

She has a very dangerous job. She gives 20 minutes interviews, answering questions one after the other and never ever made any big blunders. Remember, in this field, you can talk for 20 minutes about something, yet the next day, the main title will be that 10 words comment you did let go about other games, console, or bug. Suddenly, the other 19 minutes of the interview won't count at all....

I would hire her right away to promote any products. She's still look exited about the...

Hopefully, this will bring all of their divisions UP, not the other way around...
And sadly, as long as Peter (xbox tatoo on the forehead) Moore is there, we can only expect games being developped on the 360 first then ported over the PS3. So until there's a super duper cross compiler coming out in the market, we will get only mediocre ports.

Luckily, they are not the only one making games. I just hope they won't buy everybody else : )

Start your PC and do Ctrl-Alt-Del. Go check how many process are running after you have just started the PC. This is why you need tons of memory on a PC. Look at the bunch of icons you have in the bottom left corner of your screen. All software running in the background. Do you need an antivirus on a console? What about a specific driver and software for a specific sound cards, or printer, or whatever. And the list goes on.

You don't need 2 gig on a console because you only nee...

The Mart: "Ubisoft will get it on one DL-DVD, they only must push to limits to get the programming and compressing optimal."

If they have to push the limits NOW, what do you think they will have to do in 3 years. You can only PUSH so hard you know.

And yes, they will get in on one DL-DVD. But what about Assassin's Creed TWO? I would rather have devs making great games, instead of working on optimal programming and compression... Sadly, they have much ...

Having "flexible" memory allocation is great but it's also a beast.

It's awesome if you have a game that has no graphics, so you can get almost all 512Mb for calculations alone. Best example would be if Folding at Home would run on a 360. You turn off the nice graphic map, give all 512Mb of memory to hold the molecule and you would likely get better result at folding. Sadly, there's not that many program not requiring graphics.

Then it would also be awe...

Currently, I have 5 and I am planning to buy two more controllers with rumble as soon as they come out...

Two controllers (soon to be 4), one headset, one keyboard, and one mouse... OK, I could live without the mouse, but no way I'm loosing the keyboard or the headset. So what will it be. I play the guitar, and I have to reprogram a controller after?

I find the dongle solution fine. I admit they are ugly and a plain USB key type dongle would have been enough. ...

I understand it cost more to develop on a 360 or PS3, but if you're going down, why making it a Wii exclusive? It would cost next to nothing to produce it for the PS2 and you get an even bigger installed base... Cost even less to make it, and more money coming in... I'm betting on bad translation for now : )
